Working with layouts

Layouts define how the photos are shown within the movie.

In the simplest case, only one photo is shown at a time and photos are connected using transitions.

In a more complex layout, several photos may be shown simultaneously with one photo at a time receiving the focus of the layout. A collage layout is an example of a more complex layout.

Within the timeline, you can group sets of photos together. The layout can be set for each group of photos. The transition between the last photo in a group and the first photo in the next group is used as the transition between the two layouts.

To change the layout for a group of photos

  1. Select the group of photos for which to change the layout (see Selecting groups of photos).

  2. Select the Layout tab in the inspector.

  3. Select the desired layout in the inspector.
