As an alternative to using a flat background color (see Choosing the background color), you can set up a graphic as the background of your movie. A background graphic only appears when one of your key frames moves outside the bounds of a photo during motion.
To set a background graphic for your document
-
Using another application, build a background image that is the size of your movie (for instance, 1920x1080 for full HD).
-
Choose Command-Shift-G and select your photo. This will put the new graphic into a new title/graphic track.
→ or press -
Adjust the position of the track so that it is at the top of the track list (see Editing and rearranging tracks). It may be easier to select the tracks above the background track and quickly cut, then paste them. This will have the effect of moving them below the new graphic track.
Before you render your movie, you will need to adjust the timing of the background graphic so that it matches the duration of the entire movie.
